Life Education Truck

On Wednesday we visited the Life Education Trust Caravan at school.  It was great to go inside a caravan classroom!

We met Harold the Giraffe and Jo, the teacher.  We talked about what our body needs to be safe and healthy.  We also talked about what makes us a good friend.

Here are some pictures of us learning...

Here we are going carefully up the stairs.

Here we are inside the classroom.

Here is Harold.  He is so happy to see us!
Izzy is pointing to the love heart to show we need love.
Inaki is showing us we need water.
Bruno is showing us we need exercise.
Gus is showing us we need to be safe.
Ella is showing us we need sleep.

We watched a little video of friends playing nicely together.  They were all kind to each other and let each other join in their games.

Thankyou Jo for letting us learn these important things in your very cool classroom!

Butterfly Excitement

Yesterday we had great excitement in Room 5.

While we were in the classroom, a butterfly came out of it's crysalis and hatched. First we saw part of it's wing coming out of the crysalis and then we saw the whole butterfly come out.  It was a beautiful butterfly and flew away.  We loved watching part of the life cycle of a butterfly before our very eyes!

Here it is just after it's come out of it's crysalis.

Here it is feeding on it's crysalis.

Here is the butterfly.

Here it is on the way out the door!

And here it is, happy and safe, feeding on the nectar in the beautiful garden.

Samara's Kittens

Samara brought her two lovely Burmese kittens, Harriet and Bruno, into school today.  We loved cuddling them and learning all about them.

They were SO cute!  Thankyou for visiting Room 5 Harriet and Bruno.

School Assembly

We all enjoyed our first school assembly for the year on Friday afternoon.  We were wonderful singers, listeners and a great audience.  Look at us sitting so nicely in the photos.

Congratulations Inaki, Finn and Jacob and for receiving certificates at assembly.  You deserved them!

Our Play

The Kittens Reading group performed their play Chicken Licken on Thursday.  They were amazing!

They spoke clearly, acted out their parts really well and even drew a background for their setting.  They were great at bowing and curtsying for their audience too!

Well done Kittens!
