We were so lucky to have Sandy from Room 7's Dad come and show us some amazing camera footage of volcanoes. They were amazing! We also got to hold some real live lava that had set hard.
Can you see his outfit he has to wear when filming the volcanoes? It must get very hot!

Congratulations Amelia
We all have lots of talents in Room 10. Amelia recently entered a gymnastics competition-her first time ever, and won these ribbons for her efforts.
Well done Amelia!

Our Smarts
Every Wednesday, we have enjoyed going into different classes in our syndicate for our Smarts Inquiry activities.
We chose activities that appealed to our smarts and have had a great time learning lots about how our earth is always changing.
Room 10 is the Nature Smart Room and people who came to Room 10 last week learned about Volcanoes. We watched a Youtube clip about tectonic plates and the makeup of the earth and then made a volcano. We loved watching it erupt! We then used playdough to make models of volcanoes and then the earth.

Cross Country
On a lovely Tuesday morning, we all walked around to Days Bay for our annual Cross Country. We were amazing! We all ran non stop and should be so proud of ourselves.
Here are a few pictures; not too many though because Mrs Heath was a marshall and had to keep her eye on the job! She saw us all racing past her though; at top speed!

Our Pou
On a beautiful, sunny Thursday morning, our whole school met outside to welcome back the pou.
The two pou had been mended and moved from the sandpit area to the current position and are looking great.
The pou reach up towards the sky and give strength to our school.
Here we are standing in front of them.

Anzac Biscuits
We have been learning about Anzac Day. We have been learning about what Anzac Day means, why and how we commemorate it and have been discussing what it would have been like to be a soldier.
We learned that Anzac Biscuits were made at home and posted to the soldiers overseas because they were made from ingredients that would last a long time.
Take a look at the photos of us making and eating our Anzac biscuits.
